As part of a joint initiative of Burlington Public Library and the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog program, Cowboy (pictured above) and his owner Trudy, will be participating in the Paws 4 Stories program.  Cowboy has been specially trained to sit and listen while a child between the ages of 6 and 10 reads to him.  The purpose of the Paws 4 Stories program is to help children improve their reading skills and increase their confidence, interest, and enjoyment in reading by reading to a furry friend.
